High Water – Campfire Stout – 3.5 smokestacks out of 7

I sure smell marshmallows in this beer, and the second smell is graham crackers. Smoke smell is in there somewhere, but it has a lot to compete with. It may even be only roasted notes that are tricking me into believing in something that isn’t really there. But, the word campfire and accompanying image of one on the bottle was too much of a smoke signal to pass buying and bringing into the tabernacle. They sure got the sweet sugar flavors into this beer. This beer reminds me of something, some beer thing, some memory of a beer experience, and not of a campfire experience. Not like any campfire experience (repetition for emphasis). As I get halfway through this bottle, I think that this beer delivers on their marshmallow and graham cracker target, but I only want more and more of a smoky campfire experience. This beer has potential. This free consultation is for High Water Brewing only, which some brewers can expect to pay thousands of dollars for = needs tons more smoke, all else fine. You’re welcome. Overall beer satisfaction numeral = 3.5 smokestacks out of a possible 7 smokestacks.
