Charbon means charcoal in French, I think. And fume means smoke, maybe. I could ask my fluent wife, but then I’d have to explain why my speech is slurred (because I’m not good at French) and why I’m shirtless and wet all over (I’m inside now, so let’s leave that one alone). Sweet sweet smells in this beer, and I can’t say the same for myself. This beer, Charbonniere by Brasserie de la Goutte d’Or is an amber beer with smoked malts and it gives you the honest French beer experience. With smoke smells fairly well hidden from the nose do make their grand entrance on the exhale. And this new Bill Nye show on Netflix seems rushed. The bottle says unpasteurized and unfiltered and I believe’em, but other than the cloudiness, I’m not seeing any other signs like a bunch of flakes, floaties, and silt, And that’s good. And this beer is good. So already, we can conclude that this beer will rank above average, above 4. And tonight, this episode of Cheers has a cute little dalmatian on it. And if you follow this blog, you know that my reviewing of the entire series of Cheers is taking longer than it took to watch during it’s original airing. And if you really really follow this beer blog, then my state of sobriety has become abundantly clear. I like beerwine. And the French are known for their wine. And with my help, they will know this beer. Final smokestack rating = 4.8 smokestacks out of 7. Au revoir.
