Gotta keep this one brief… Tastes like a wheat beer with smoke down in there somewhere. You will not miss the wheat, it’s a big wheaty beer, which is just fine, pretty sweet. Rauchweizen really reminds me of Crop Circle Wheat from The Great Dane out of Madison, WI, but with a touch of smoke in it. The smoky notes seem to build as I get down farther into the glass. And the bartender’s knowledge on yeast and how it changes the flavor profile of beers, and the timing of yeast, and all ingredients included during the brewing process, is robust. This beer is good. Overall, 5 smokestacks out of 7. I sure would like more smoke.
