Deschutes – Baltic Porter – 4 Smokestacks (out of 7)

IMG_20190323_224843.jpg

Smells like beer, not smokebeer, but good beer, but sometimes I get really trashed and drink good beer and then I’m too drunk to enjoy it, or it goes to waste one way or another, taking me over the edge… Maybe this beer is bringing back bad memories. This beer seems mass produced due to the fairly faint flavors and the thin consistency (thirst quenching with low viscosity). I’m getting a little musty – dusty flavor in this. I’ll approve Deschutes “edge of smokiness” comment printed on the bottle. And, after getting interrupted by my phone for 20 minutes, I realize that my sobriety has long since left and it hasn’t increased my personal allotment of utils of pleasure. I have the hiccups. This beer is ok. This beer is not a smokebeer. Deschutes is a good brewery and I look forward to something more bold and smoky. Baltic Porter… meh. Overall metric = 4 smokestacks out of a total possible smokestack rating of 7 smokestacks, which means that this beer is something that wouldn’t be missed if it disappeared.
