Back in the sanctuary for this review, which caused Buddha Blue Light to pulsate. Wooha Brewing Co. (which I have a hard time saying without hearing Busta Rhymes voice in my head) of Scotland, brews four beers: Wheat, IPA, Lager, and Porter, and the Porter is in the tabernacle today. Described as smoky by Wooha themselves, we brought the porter in and were completely not offended. This beer smells like beer. No smoke though, but sweetish beer smells (no, not Swedish as in from Sweden, because this is Scotland). And after a good head scratch I wonder why the word smoky is on the bottle. I guess I taste it a bit, maybe peat smoked malts. I definitely can agree with Wooha’s chocolate and coffee comments. And I detect just a bit of bitterness. But in this 11.16 oz bottle, there just isn’t enough to bring me back again, unless maybe if I were in Scotland, or maybe if I were at a party and this was in a cooler, but that’ll never happen. Maybe I’m in a bad mood, maybe it’s that Busta Rhymes in my head, Got you all in check, WooHah! Overall smokestack rating = 3.75 smokestacks out of 7.

Their website seems alright, but it don’t make me go Wooha:
And a shout out to Busta… who just cheered me up a bit:)
PS
Wooha has this little note for the customers, which I think makes them a good deal more respectable. Their job is probably harder this way:
“Whatever kind of WOOHA you’re looking for, all our beers are 100% natural. We don’t do filtration, there’s no isinglass (chemicals and additives) – making our beers vegan friendly – and you won’t find a single bubble of forced carbonation. We use temperature and time to clarify our beers – beer doesn’t come anymore natural than WOOHA.
Our real ales are smooth, with appropriate levels of carbonation – fizz not allowed.”
