Another can, or actually a crowler, which is the 32 oz beer holding vessel that Mile Wide Beer Co. of Louisville, KY has chosen to distribute this smoked beer in, unless you can find it on tap. And this beer is a gateway beer. The hope that SmokeBeerMinistry holds is that beer drinkers will drink Path of the Righteous Man and work to find a smokier and smokier paths, which would be more righteous. Headquartered in an old Pillsbury Dough silo and factory, Mile Wide has a lot going for it, including this completely non-offensive Smoke Rye Amber Ale. It’s too bad I can’t say that about Mile Wide’s cross town competitor… everything they do is offensive. Mile Wide comes off as an honest, young, and passionate beer start-up in a gentrifying neighborhood, and I hope the audience grows and the palates continue to mature. But, I have to give this crew a dose of Judge Mathis’ tuff luv. Path of the Righteous Man is something that I could serve my mom and hear her describe it as neat. If this path were a road, the speed limit would be 30mph, and I’m looking for something that would be featured on Ice Road Truckers, or maybe even that Elon Musk vacuum tube hyper bullet. Needs more smoke, rye, amber, and ale flavors, but, honestly, I could still drink this every day, maybe as a refresher beer. I look forward to Mile Wide getting their feet under them, and getting into some deeper waters, and having seen their production facility and filled barrels within, I’d guess that’s exactly what’s happening. Good luck folks.
