Not a smokebeer, but the label says subtle smokiness so this investigation ensued. Undertaker is alright. I’d drink it again. My friend is an undertaker and says people are dying to see him. Probably not the case with this beer, but that shouldn’t be held against Vivant. Inspired in name after an actual undertaker, given that Brewery Vivant currently (2017) occupies an old funeral home. We’ll just assume he or she enjoyed Belgian style dark ales that carry a surprisingly refreshing aftereffect. Not much head as you can see (I suppose) and not much to really offend the drinker. Just a middle of the road dark beer that lured SBM into reviewing it. A net gain undertaking. Overall score = 4 smokestacks.
