SmokeBeerMinistry will visit HammerHeart soon… soon after winter. SBM stumbled across Von Winterherz Verhasst at HopCat in Lexington, KY and the real takeaway is HammerHeart has their eye on the prize. Seemingly half of everything HammerHeart makes is smoked, if not more, and We are going to attempt to try them all, and report back. Von Winterherz Verhasst is a great place to start with it’s high wheat content and moderate campfire notes (like a home coming). And as a hefeweizen, one can expect nothing offensive, brash, or outlandish was thrown into the formula. This beer would make a good daily drinker in the summer months, which is just about the only time one should visit Minnesota. Maybe I’m getting lazy here, but I don’t have much else to say. Smoked wheat beer. Nice smoke. Can’t wait to learn more about HammerHeart. Final overall smoke metric = an honest 4.5 out of 7 smokestacks.
