Jester King – Simple Means farmhouse altbier w/ smoked malt – 2.5 out of 7

Dry, bitter, tart, with silt. Faint musty smoke smell way down in there. I wondered, “Is there any alcohol in here?” Apparently 5.6%. I like Jester King, they make a great product most of the time, but they didn’t get this one right. I don’t like this beer. Silver lining: If you drink the whole thing by yourself, the booze kicks in… at the very end. Also, there are other Jester King beers in the queue. Overall smokestack metric = 2.5 smokestacks out of a possible 7.

Brewer Jester King
Beer Name Simple Means
Brewer’s Description, or some kind of poem, I guess. We looked inward and begged for meaning. Perhaps our great ancestors would make themselves known from within to share their wisdom. Immediately, a guttural call emerged from the primal darkness in answer. It reverberated through our bodies. Embarrassed, we looked instead to history for our answer. Simple as it was, the inspiration we sought had been written in books all along.
