YO-HO Brewing – Tokyo Black – 4 out of 7 smokestacks

Dark beer. The head fizzled quickly for me. Smoked malts smells rise up right away. Ashy notes. Hops are done just right, with limited range. This beer is malty, watery (which is fine, especially when you’re thirsty), carbonated. Charcoal flavors. Tokyo is a good porter… but not really a smokebeer, although the logo does offer some implications. This beer delivers smoky savoriness. Final overall rating = 4 out of a total of 7 possible smokestacks.
